Welcome to 95years! 95years is a blog about the intersection of the law with media and technology. It’s named after one of the standard terms of copyright in the United States (as well as the standard term of copyright for a music recording in the European Union).
We won’t focus solely on copyright, although it’s certainly an interest of ours. We intend to cast a wide net and discuss novel legal issues that we think deserve attention and analysis.
For instance, this week we’ll have posts about some important recent file-sharing decisions, a trade dress infringement suit involving luxury sneakers, the intricacies of rap law, and the value of a copyright infringement suit as deal leverage. We hope you find them informative and entertaining.

Thanks for reading!
